The last couple of days Berlin didn't sleep. The World Cup fever has spread throughout the entire city. I have come to appreciate this mediterranean touch in this normally quiet city. There are street cafes on every corner showing the games on big screens and the "Fan Meile" near the Brandenburger Tor had about 700.000 visitors yesterday. The atmosphere is amazing. However ...
The first game of the World Cup is over. Wohoo :-)
Next.
Germany vs. the Netherlands (and in between an Austrian)

This morning I woke up and decided to put on my orange Nike T-shirt, because it was a sunny and bright day. In addition, I wore my orange Adidas sneakers. I had no idea at this point that these decisions were more than just about color matching and comfort.
With only a day left until the opening game it is almost impossible to
get away from the hype of this year's World Cup. People on the street in
Berlin are either talking about their favorite team or about how much
they are annoyed by this soccermania. I've decided to enjoy the games as
much as possible without favoring one team from the beginning.
