The last couple of days Berlin didn't sleep. The World Cup fever has spread throughout the entire city. I have come to appreciate this mediterranean touch in this normally quiet city. There are street cafes on every corner showing the games on big screens and the "Fan Meile" near the Brandenburger Tor had about 700.000 visitors yesterday. The atmosphere is amazing. However ...


some people use this event to show their xenophobia very openly. It is totally ok to be rooting for your home team. Yet, the basic principles of tolerance and respect shouldn't be forgotten. The World Cup is supposed to bring people together and to find a fair ground for competition. It's called fair play!
